Here's your match preview:
Opposition
After the reverse fixture finished in a stalemate back in round one at the Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens arrive at AMT Headingley looking to close the gap to Wigan at the top of the table as the season approaches the halfway stage.
Derek Hardman and Craig Richards' first season in charge after the departure of Matty Smith has so far gone to plan in both the league and Challenge Cup. A convincing run through each stage of the Cup competition saw the side make their third Wembley appearance but they couldn't retain the trophy in a 42-6 demolition against the Warriors.
Fast forward to the end of June, a much closer affair saw Saints draw 22-22 in the Wembley rematch with Wigan, continuing their unbeaten start to the league campaign. After drawing with Leeds thanks to late tries from Luci McColm and Vicky Whitfield, the Red Vee made sure to take away wins against Huddersfield and York to put themselves in a position to compete at the top of the table, before bouncing back from the Cup Final to defeat Barrow and Warrington before sharing the points with the Warriors.
Winger Phoebe Hook has bounced back from injury to lead the try scoring efforts in all competitions as she has eleven tries in ten appearances, whilst Amy Hardcastle has also settled back into her try scoring rhythm in Saints colours as she has nine tries. Former Leeds players Shona Hoyle and Caitlin Casey face their former club for the second time this campaign, whilst Faye Gaskin has also been a key player after agreeing to continue playing after momentarily retiring at the end of 2024.
This week's game with Leeds marks the official halfway point of the season as they look ahead to an away trip to Warrington before hosting Leigh, Huddersfield, Barrow and York and Wigan on home soil through August and September.
